This specimen was lot 45348 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Chicago, August 2024), where it sold for $780. The catalog description[1] noted, "AUSTRIA. Burgau. Taler, 1780-SF. Gunzburg Mint. Maria Theresia. NGC MS-62." This type was struck 1773-80 at Günzburg and is a close relative of the famous Maria Theresia thaler of 1780. The Austrian issues for the Empire always featured her husband Francis (or her son Joseph after her husband's death in 1765) but those struck for Austria proper depicted the empress herself.
