The first specimen was lot 700 in Sedwick Treasure Auction 28 (Winter Park, FL, November 2020), where it sold for $540. The catalog description[1] noted, "Buenos Aires, Argentina, copper 5/10 real, 1827, struck over an 1823 decimo, NGC MS 65 RB, finest known in NGC census, ex-Carter, ex-O'Brien. Beautiful deep strike with lovely original luster and much copper color, ghost of 1823 host date visible in center, the finest of over a dozen entries in the NGC census (including BN, none rated RD) and nicely pedigreed. Pedigreed to the Amon Carter collection (Coin Galleries auction of November 15, 1989, lot #1496), and to the John O'Brien collection (stated on label)." The second specimen was lot 1091 in Sedwick Treasure Auction 35 (Winter Park, FL, May 2024), where it sold for $360. The catalog description[2] noted, "ARGENTINA, Buenos Aires, copper 5/10 real, 1827, struck over a 1 décimo of 1822 or 1823, NGC MS 62 BN, Janson Plate. Bold strike but with clear wreath of under-coin visible under BANCO NACIONAL, slight hint of red within dark brown surfaces. Plate Coin (obverse) on page 230 of La Moneda Circulante en el Territorio Argentino 1574-2019 (2020), by Hector Carlos Janson."

Recorded mintage: unknown but a common date.
