Sedwick sale 12, lot 1257

This specimen was lot 1257 in Sedwick sale 12 (Winter Park, FL, October 2012), where it sold for $177. The catalog description[1] noted, "Buenos Aires, Argentina, copper 1 decimo, 1822. Red-brown Mint State with some iridescent toning." These coins, struck 1822-23, were struck under contract by the Soho Mint in Birmingham. They are common in circulated condition.
