This specimen was lot 697 in Sedwick Treasure Auction 28 (Winter Park, FL, November 2020), where it sold for $450. The catalog description[1] noted, "Buenos Aires, Argentina, 10 decimos, 1827, NGC MS 61 BN, ex-O'Brien. Bold strike, very darkly toned but with traces of original color and luster around eagle, nice smooth fields, minor natural flaw (vertical) on left side of reverse but essentially no wear or marks. Pedigreed to the John O'Brien collection (stated on label)." This type was struck 1827-28 and 1830 and is common in low grade.
Recorded mintage: unknown but a common date.
Specification: copper, 12-15 g, 28-32 mm diameter.
