Künker sale 386, lot 5084

This specimen was lot 5084 in Künker sale 386 (Osnabrück, March 2023), where it sold for €220 (about US$284 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRAUNSCHWEIG-WOLFENBÜTTEL, FÜRSTENTUM, Karl I. 1735-1780. 24 Mariengroschen 1765, Zellerfeld. Feine Patina, leichter Doppelschlag, vorzüglich. (duchy of Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel, Charles I, 1735-80, 24 mariengroschen of 1765, Zellerfeld mint. Fine patina, lightly double struck, extremely fine.)"

This gulden was struck 1736-80 along with another type (KM 870) featuring the wild man reverse.
