This specimen was lot 73257 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2023), where it sold for $360. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Brunswick-Luneburg: Brunswick. 24 Mariengroschen, 1749-IBH. Zellerfeld Mint. Karl I. PCGS MS-61. A charming gray backdrop gives way to some russet and burnt sienna notes as one approaches the peripheries of this elegant, Mint State minor. From the Robert C. Knepper Collection." This denomination was two-thirds of a thaler or one gulden. This type was struck 1735-80 and is common. Mintmaster IBH appears 1739-62.
