Künker sale 386, lot 5053

This specimen was lot 5053 in Künker sale 386 (Osnabrück, March 2023), where it sold for €420 (about US$543 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRAUNSCHWEIG-WOLFENBÜTTEL, FÜRSTENTUM, Anton Ulrich, 1704-1714. 24 Mariengroschen 1712, Zellerfeld. Feine Patina, winz. Schrötlingsfehler am Rand, vorzüglich +. (duchy of Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel, Anton Ulrich, 1704-14, 24 mariengroschen of 1712, Zellerfeld mint. Fine patina, minor edge defects, choice extremely fine.)"

This "wild man" gulden was struck 1705-14 and has a moderate catalog value.
