Kunker sale 293, lot 482

This specimen was lot 482 in Künker sale 293 (Osnabrück, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €110 (about US$148 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRAUNSCHWEIG-WOLFENBÜTTEL, HERZOGTUM August der Jüngere, 1635-1666. 1/8 Reichstaler 1641, Zellerfeld. R Sehr schön. (Germany, duchy of Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel, Augustus the Younger, 1635-66, eighth thaler of 1641, Zellerfeld mint. Scarce, very fine.)"

This type is noted for 1637-41 and 1647. Numerous "wild man" thalers and half thalers exist from this state.
