This specimen was lot 55438 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Pittsburgh, PA, August 2023), where it sold for $192. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Brunswick-Luneburg: Wolfenbuttel. 1/4 Taler, 1607/6. Zellerfeld Mint. Heinrich Julius. PCGS VF-35. Overdate variety. From the Robert C. Knepper Collection." This quarter thaler was struck 1600-13 and, despite the many years of production, is rather scarce. A half thaler (KM 22) also exists along with a quarter thaler with a St. Andrew reverse (KM 8).
