This specimen was lot 5423 in Künker sale 354 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €750 (about US$1,044 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BRAUNSCHWEIG UND LÜNEBURG, BRAUNSCHWEIG-WOLFENBÜTTEL, FÜRSTENTUM, Heinrich Julius, 1589-1613. Reichstaler 1607, Andreasberg. Ausbeute der Grube St. Andreas. Preussag Collection, Part II, Auktion London Coin Galleries/Künker 2, London 2016, Nr. 1065 var. Sehr schön. Exemplar der Auktion Fritz Rudolf Künker 75, Osnabrück 2002, Nr. 1507. (Germany, duchy of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel, Henry Julius, 1589-1613, thaler of 1607, Andreasberg mint, for the St. Andrew mine. Very fine.)"
The duchy of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel issued dozens of different thalers in the seventeenth century, many featuring the mythical "wild man" of the forest. This mining thaler of 1601-11 shows St. Andrew with his cross. It is common.
