This specimen was lot 75029 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2024), where it sold for $145. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Brunswick-Luneburg: Calenberg. 6 Mariengroschen, 1688. Ernst August. NGC AU-53. A pleasing example with limited circulation and handsome toning throughout." This type was struck 1680-83, 1687-89 wand was worth one-sixth thaler. Another six mariengroschen with a leaping stallion reverse (KM 334) was struck 1688-92 with mintmark HB.
