This specimen was lot 75146 in Stack's Bowers June 2026 World Premier Collectors Choice Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2026), where it sold for $89. The catalog description[1] noted, "BOLIVIA. Real, 1792/1-PTS PR. Potosi Mint. Charles IV. PCGS Genuine--Environmental Damage, VF Details. Overdate variety. From the Richard August Collection." This type was struck 1791-1809. The bust used on the 1791 is distinctly larger than that used on later dates, a phenomenon noted on the other denominations as well. Harris[2] notes that Potosi one reales of Charles IV are tied with Mexico City as the the commonest mint. This overdate is mentioned in the SCWC but not in Cayón.
