This specimen was lot 74031 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2024), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "BOLIVIA. 1/2 Real, 1791-PTS PR. Potosi Mint. Charles IV. PCGS Genuine--Tooled, VF Details. From the Richard Margolis Collection." The year 1791 was when the "proper bust" of Charles IV was introduced at Potosi. Coinage with the bust of the defunct Charles III also exists for 1791 (KM 60).
