This specimen was lot 75119 in Stack's Bowers June 2026 World Premier Collectors Choice Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2026), where it sold for $341.60. The catalog description[1] noted, "BOLIVIA. 4 Reales, 1791-PTS PR. Potosi Mint. Charles IV. PCGS VF-35. From the Richard August Collection." This type was struck 1791-1809. The bust used on this date is distinctly larger than that used on later dates, a phenomenon noted on the other denominations as well. Harris[2] notes that Potosi four reales of Charles IV are the commonest mint, with twice as many reported as those of Mexico City.
