This specimen was part of lot 32709 in Heritage sale 3040 (Chicago, April 2015), which sold for $517. The catalog description[1] noted, "Charles IV Three Colonial 4 Reales 1789 1791 1800, 1789, KM 44, Fine. 1791, KM 52, Fine. 1800, KM52, XF. From The Santa Maria Collection." This type is listed for 1790-1808 and is the most common colonial four reales from Guatemala. Unlike contemporary Mexican issues, Guatemala four reales are more available than the eight reales.
