This specimen was lot 4853 in Sincona sale 9 (Zürich, October 2012), where it sold for 1500 CHF (about US$1,897 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"ÖSTERREICH Ferdinand III. 1637-1657. Taler 1638, Prag. Selten. Sehr schön. (Austria, Ferdinand III, 1637-57, thaler of 1638, Prague mint, rare, very fine.)"
This type was struck 1638-41 and is listed in the SCWC under Bohemia. A double thaler (Dav-3211), unlisted in the SCWC, also exists.
Recorded mintage: unknown but fairly common.
