Sincona sale 34, lot 4216

This specimen was lot 4216 in Sincona sale 34 (Zürich, October 2016), where it sold for 24,000 CHF (about US$28,489 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE - AUSTRIA. Ferdinand III. 1637-1657 Doppeltaler 1638. Kuttenberg Münzmeister Daniel Kavka. Sehr selten. Fast vorzüglich. Etwas rissiger Schrötling. (Holy Roman Empire, Ferdinand III, 1637-57, double thaler of 1638, Kuttenberg mint, mintmaster Daniel Kavka. Very rare, About extremely fine, a few obverse planchet cracks.)"

This issue is accompanied by a single thaler (Dav-3212).
