Bohemia 1648 thaler Dav-3205
This specimen was lot 4212 in Sincona sale 34 (Zürich, October 2016), where it sold for 3,200 CHF (about US$3,799 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE - AUSTRIA. Ferdinand III. 1637-1657 Taler 1648. Prag Münzmeister Jakob W. Wolker. Sehr selten. Gutes sehr schön. Blau-graue Patina. (Holy Roman Empire, Ferdinand III, 1637-57, thaler of 1648, Prague mint, mintmaster Jakob W. Wolker. Very rare, Good very fine, blue gray patina.)"
This type of 1641-49, 1653 and 1656 is among the more common thalers from Prague of the seventeenth century.
