Sincona sale 46, lot 781

This specimen was lot 781 in Sincona sale 46 (Zürich, May 2018), where it sold for 25,000 CHF (about US$29,998 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Osterreich, Ferdinand III. 1637-1657. 10 Dukaten 1648, Prag. Münzmeister Jakob W. Wolker (Tätigkeit in Prag 1637-1655). Sehr selten. Fast vorzüglich. Feld der Vorderseite leicht geglättet und Rand etwas bearbeitet. (Austria, Ferdinand III, 1637-57, ten ducats of 1648, Prague mint, mintmaster Jakob Wolker. Very rare, About extremely fine, Obverse fields and edge slightly tooled.)"

This rare type is listed in the SCWC under Bohemia for 1641-48, 1651-55. The prior type (KM 429) lacked the laurel wreath on the emperor's head.
