Sincona sale 34, lot 4157

This specimen was lot 4157 in Sincona sale 34 (Zürich, October 2016), where it sold for 1,200 CHF (about US$1,425 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE - AUSTRIA. Ferdinand II. 1618-1637 Taler 1637. Prag Münzmeister Jakob W. Wolker. Sehr selten. Sehr schön. Kleine Kratzer. (Holy Roman Empire, Ferdinand II, 1618-37, thaler of 1637, Prague mint, mintmaster Jakob W. Wolker. Very rare, Very fine, Minor scratches.)"

This type of 1623-38 is the most common thaler from Prague of the seventeenth century.
