Bohemia 1604 thaler Dav-3030
This specimen was lot 4119 in Sincona sale 34 (Zürich, October 2016), where it sold for 3,800 CHF (about US$4,511 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE - AUSTRIA. Rudolf II. 1576-1612 Taler 1604. Budweis Münzmeister Christ. Mattighofer. Sehr selten in dieser Erhaltung. Fast FDC. (Holy Roman Empire, Rudolf II, 1576-1612, thaler of 1604, Budweis mint, mintmaster Christ. Mattighofer. Very rare in this condition, About uncirculated.)"
This product of the Budweis mint is listed for 1603-11 and is likely the most common issue of this normally rare mint.
