Sincona sale 34, lot 4118

This specimen was lot 4118 in Sincona sale 34 (Zürich, October 2016), where it sold for 3,600 CHF (about US$4,273 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE - AUSTRIA. Rudolf II. 1576-1612 Taler 1603. Budweis Münzmeister Christ. Mattighofer. Sehr selten in dieser Erhaltung. FDC. Scharfe Prägung. An den Adlerköpfen ein wenig flau. (Holy Roman Empire, Rudolf II, 1576-1612, thaler of 1603, Budweis mint, mintmaster Christ. Mattighofer. Very rare in this condition, Uncirculated, Sharply struck, crooked eagle heads.)"

This product of the Budweis mint is listed for 1601-03 and is rare. This date is unpriced in the SCWC.
