The first specimen was lot 3451 in Goldberg sale 87 (Los Angeles, September 2015), where it sold for $146.87. The catalog description[1] noted, "Switzerland: Bern. Batzen, 1826. Bear in frame. Nice original example. NGC graded MS-63." The second specimen was lot 35108 in Heritage sale 3067 (Long Beach, September 2018), where it sold for $528. The catalog description[2] noted, "Switzerland: Bern. Canton Batzen 1826 MS68 NGC, Bern mint. A blast white gem, with an exquisite strike, and satiny surfaces that exude a high degree of elegance. From the Feeling Good Collection." The canton of Bern issued two different batzen in 1826; KM 195.2 (first specimen) and KM 195.1 (second specimen), with the denomination spelled "BATZ." The KM 195.2 has a slight premium.
