The first specimen was lot 3447 in Goldberg sale 87 (Los Angeles, September 2015), where it sold for $82.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "Switzerland: Basel. 5 Rappen, 1826. Billon. City arms. Toned. NGC graded MS-63." The second specimen was lot 4524 in Sincona sale 39 (Zürich, May 2017), where it sold for 325 CHF (about US$390 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[2] noted,

"Basel, Stadt, Halbbatzen 1826. FDC. Uncirculated. Prachtvolle Erhaltung. (canton of Basel, half batzen of 1826. Magnificent condition.)"

The third specimen was lot 2579 in Sincona sale 47 (Zürich, May 2018), where it sold for 200 CHF (about US$240 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[3] noted,

"SWITZERLAND, Basel, Stadt und Kanton Basel, Halbbatzen 1826. PCGS MS65. (city and canton of Basel, half batzen of 1826, gem uncirculated.)"

The canton of Basel issued three different five rappen in 1826; KM 204 (shown here) is common; the other two (KM 205 and KM 206) are rare. This is the last year Basel issued coins.
