This specimen was lot 3449 in Goldberg sale 87 (Los Angeles, September 2015), where it sold for $141. The catalog description[1] noted, "Switzerland: Bern. 2 ½ Batzen, 1826. Bear in crowned oval shield. Choice with brilliant mint luster. NGC graded MS-66." The canton of Bern issued two different 2½ batzen in 1826; KM 195.1 (shown here) and KM 195.2, with the denomination spelled "BAZ." The KM 195.2 has a slight premium.
