Sincona sale 43, lot 4144

This specimen was lot 4144 in Sincona sale 43 (Zürich, October 2017), where it did not sell. The catalog description^[1] noted,

"Stadt und Kanton Basel, 5 Batzen 1826. Wertangabe BATZEN. FDC. PCGS MS65. (city and canton of Basel, five batzen of 1826, normal variety. Uncirculated.)"

The canton of Basel issued two different five batzen in 1826; KM 210 (denomination as "5 BATZ") is scarce; the other (shown here) is available. This is the last year Basel issued coins.
