This specimen was lot 1044 in Sincona sale 18 (Zürich, May 2014), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,
"5 Francs 1850. Gutes vorzüglich. (Belgium, five francs of 1850, good extremely fine.)"
This type, which is common, was issued 1849-65. A variety exists for 1850 without dot above date.
Recorded mintage: 5,265,000.
Specification: 25 g, 0.900 fine silver, .723 troy oz ASW, lettered edge, this specimen 24.94 g.
