This specimen was lot 1966 in Jean Elsen sale 145 (Brussels, September 2020), where it sold for €7,500 (about US$10,687 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BELGIQUE, Royaume, Léopold Ier (1831-1865), AR 2 francs, 1849. Tête nue. Extrêmement rare Petit coup devant le nez. Superbe à Fleur de Coin. (kingdom of Belgium, Leopold I, 1831-65, silver two francs of 1849, bare head. Extremely rare, small nick before the nose, Extremely Fine - Uncirculated.)"
This type was struck 1848-50 and all dates are rare.
