Sincona sale 9, lot 3705

This specimen was lot 3705 in Sincona sale 9 (Zürich, October 2012), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"DEUTSCHLAND Bayern, Königreich Ludwig I. 1825-1848. Doppelter Vereinstaler 1845. Kl. Kr. Gutes vorzüglich. (Kingdom of Bavaria, Louis I, 1825-48, double union thaler of 1845. Light hairlines, good extremely fine.)"

This type, the regular issue of 1842-48, is now scarcer than many of the commemoratives issued in the same period.

Recorded mintage: 166,7000.

Specification: 37.12 g, 0.900 fine silver, this specimen 37,10 g.
