This specimen was lot 2582 in Sincona sale 57 (Zürich, May 2019), where it sold for 900 CHF (about US$1,071 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"DEUTSCHLAND | Bavaria, Ludwig I. 1825-1848. 2 Vereinstaler 1845, München. Geburt des Erbprinzen Ludwig. Prachtvolle Erhaltung. Fast FDC. (Germany, kingdom of Bavaria, Louis I, 1825-48, double union thaler of 1845, Munich mint, for the birth of crown prince Louis. Cabinet piece. About uncirculated.)"
This is one of two commemorative double thalers issued in 1845 plus the regular issue (Dav-589). None are rare tho they can be pricey.
