Künker sale 335, lot 3407

This specimen was lot 3407 in Künker sale 335 (Osnabrück, Germany, March 2020), where it sold for €85 (about US$111 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BAYERN, HERZOGTUM, SEIT 1623 KURFÜRSTENTUM, SEIT 1806 KÖNIGREICH: Maximilian I. 1598-1651. Kipper-15 Kreuzer (1/4 Gulden) 1622, München. RR Fast sehr schön. (Germany, duchy of Bavaria, Maximilian I, 1598-1651, kipper fifteen kreuzer (quarter gulden) of 1622, Munich mint. Rare, about very fine.)"

This type was struck 1622 only. It was probably made in substantial quantities but was melted down in the aftermath of the kipperzeit, or the inflation of 1621-23.
