Bavaria 1621 30 kreuzer
This specimen was lot 3404 in Künker sale 335 (Osnabrück, Germany, March 2020), where it sold for €1,700 (about US$2,225 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BAYERN, HERZOGTUM, SEIT 1623 KURFÜRSTENTUM, SEIT 1806 KÖNIGREICH: Maximilian I. 1598-1651. Kipper-30 Kreuzer (1/2 Gulden) 1621, München. Von größter Seltenheit. Zainende, vorzüglich. (Germany, duchy of Bavaria, Maximilian I, 1598-1651, kipper thirty kreuzer (half gulden) of 1621, Munich mint. Very rare, clipped, extremely fine.)"
This type was struck 1621-22 and is scarce. It was probably made in substantial quantities but was melted down in the aftermath of the kipperzeit, or the inflation of 1621-23.
