Künker sale 335, lot 3392

This specimen was lot 3392 in Künker sale 335 (Osnabrück, Germany, March 2020), where it sold for €1,100 (about US$1,440 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BAYERN, HERZOGTUM, SEIT 1623 KURFÜRSTENTUM, Maximilian I. 1598-1651. Reichstaler 1622, München. R Vorzüglich/sehr schön-vorzüglich. (Germany, duchy of Bavaria, Maximilian I, 1598-1651, thaler of 1622, Munich mint. Rare, very fine to extremely fine.)"

In 1623, the duke received the electoral dignity heretofore held by his cousin, the count of the Palatinate.
