Sincona sale 63, lot 3094

This specimen was lot 3094 in Sincona sale 64 (Zürich, June 2020), where it sold for 275 CHF (about US$345 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SWITZERLAND | Basel | Stadt und Kanton, Halbbatzen 1724, Basel. Sehr selten in dieser Erhaltung. Fast FDC. (city and canton of Basel, half batzen of 1724, Basel mint. Very rare in this condition, About uncirculated.)"

This issue was accompnaied by a batzen of approximately equal rarity.

Specification: 1.04 g, billon, 18 mm diameter, this specimen 1.23 g.
