Sincona sale 98, lot 4036

This specimen was lot 4036 in SINCONA Auction 98 (Zürich, May 2025), where it sold for 375 CHF (about US$544 including buyers' fees). The catalog description^[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ Basel, Stadt und Kanton, 3 Batzen 1726, Basel. Vorzüglich. (Switzerland, canton of Basel, three batzen of 1726, Basel mint. Extremely Fine.)"

This type was struck 1724 and 1726 and has a rather low catalog value. This example realized four times the catalog value. Other three batzen include KM 165 (1764-65) and KM 198 (1809-10).
