The half gulden was introduced in Baden in 1838. This type was struck 1860-65. It accompanied a gulden, thaler and double gulden. Another half gulden of 1860 (KM 234) shows Friedrich's title as "PRINZ UND REGENT VON BADEN." Friedrich succeeded his brother Ludwig II in 1858; we don't know why a regency was necessary in 1860.
Recorded mintage: 342,300 (including KM 234).
