This specimen was lot 1126 in Sincona sale 66 (Zürich, October 2020), where it sold for 350 CHF (about US$461 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"DEUTSCHLAND | Baden-Durlach, ab 1806 Grossherzogtum. Friedrich I. 1856-1907. Gulden 1857, Karlsruhe. Münzbesuch. Selten. Nur 776 Exemplare geprägt. Fast vorzüglich. (Germany, grand duchy of Baden, Frederick I, 1856-1907, gulden of 1857, Karlsruhe mint, mint visit. Rare. Only 776 pieces struck, About extremely fine.)"
The grand duchy issued coins until 1918 but this scarce issue is nearly the last of the denomination.
