This specimen was lot 1126 in Jean Elsen sale 161 (Brussels, March 2025), where it sold for €550 (about US$716 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SAINT EMPIRE, Joseph II (1765-1790), AV ducat, 1786 A, Vienne. D/ T. l. à d. R/ Aigle impériale couronnée. Fines griffes. (Austria, Joseph II, 1765-90, gold ducat of 1786, Vienna mint. Obverse: laureate head right; reverse: crowned imperial eagle. Fine scratches, Very Fine.)"

This type was struck 1780-90 at five mints and this is a common date. The SCWC states it is worth only bullion in circulated condition.

Specification: 3.49 g, 0.986 fine gold, 21 mm diameter.
