Austria 1753-HA 30 kreuzer
This specimen was lot 1725 in Sincona sale 73 (Zürich, November 2021), where it sold for 160 CHF (about US$206 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE - AUSTRIA. Franz I. 1745-1765. 30 Kreuzer 1753, Hall. Vorzüglich. (Holy Roman Empire, Francis I, 1745-65, thirty kreuzer of 1753, Hall mint. Extremely fine.)"
This type was struck with the bust of Francis I at Kremnitz, Hall and Nagybanya 1751-53, 1758-60 and 1765. The convention thaler was worth 120 kreuzer, making this coin one-sixth of a thaler. Despite the modest mintage, this is the most common date of the type.
Recorded mintage: 61,000.
Specification: silver; this specimen 7.07 g.
