Austria 1750 thaler Dav-1120
This specimen was lot 1627 in Künker sale 293 (Osnabrück, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €440 (about US$593 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"RÖMISCH-DEUTSCHES REICH, Maria Theresia, 1740-1780. Reichstaler 1750, Hall. Sehr schön/vorzüglich. Exemplar der Slg. Bernhard Terletzki. Exemplar der Auktion Lanz 91, München 1999, Nr. 162. (Holy Roman Empire, Maria Theresia of Austria, 1740-80, thaler of 1750, Hall mint. Very fine to extremely fine.)"
This type was struck 1746-54, 1760-65 to the reichs thaler standard while production of the convention thaler (28.06 g, Dav-1121) was becoming important. It is somewhat scarce.
