Künker sale 423, lot 155

This specimen was lot 155 in Künker Auction 423 (Osnabrück, July 2025), where it sold for €17,000 (about US$24,072 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"HABSBURGISCHE ERBLANDE-ÖSTERREICH · RÖMISCH-DEUTSCHES REICH, Joseph I., 1705-1711. Dukat o. J., Hall. Geharnischtes Brustbild r. mit Lorbeerkranz, umgelegtem Mantel und der Kette des Ordens vom Goldenen Vlies//Gekröntes und verziertes, fünffeldiges Wappen (Ungarn - Böhmen / Österreich-Burgund / Alt-Österreich / Habsburg-Görz), mit Mittelschild (Tirol), umher die Kette des Ordens vom Goldenen Vlies. GOLD. Vorzüglich/vorzüglich-Stempelglanz. Exemplar der Auktion Gerhard Hirsch 136, München 1983, Nr. 511. (Holy Roman Empire, Joseph I, 1705-11, undated ducat, Hall mint. Obverse: armored, mantled and laureate bust right with Order chain; reverse: crowned five fold arms of Hungary, Bohemia, Austria, Burgundy, old Austria and Gorizia with the escutcheon of Tyrol, Order chain around. Extremely fine to uncirculated.)"

Friedberg states this also comes dated 1706 and is the only ducat of Joseph I from this mint.
