Australia 1921 half penny

from the Stack's Bowers June 2021 Collector's Choice sale, lot 70288

This specimen was lot 70288 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2021), where it sold for $156. The catalog description^[1] noted, "AUSTRALIA. 1/2 Penny, 1921. Sydney Mint. NGC MS-63+ Brown. A gorgeous example of the type, with shimmering cartwheel luster and infusions of cobalt and magenta toning in the fields." This half penny was struck 1911-36 at London (1911-14), Heaton (1912-15), Sydney (1919-22), Calcutta (1916-18) and Melbourne (1920-36). Most of the dates are common in worn condition but all are scarce choice.
