Sincona sale 38, lot 1044

This specimen was lot 1044 in Sincona sale 38 (Zürich, May 2017), where it sold for 1,700 CHF (about US$2,039 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"George V. 1910-1936 Sovereign 1921. Sydney. Selten. Vorzüglich-FDC. (Australia, George V, 1910-36, sovereign of 1921, Sydney mint. Rare, Extremely fine-uncirculated.)"

This date, from a type struck 1911-28 at Perth, Melbourne and Sydney (shown here), is very scarce.

Recorded mintage: 839,000.
