This specimen was lot 42260 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2019), where it sold for $204. The catalog description[1] noted, "AUSTRALIA. 1/2 Penny, 1920. NGC MS-64 BN. Highly attractive with silky luster and faintly iridescent toning." This half penny was struck 1911-36 at London (1911-14), Heaton (1912-15), Sydney (1919-22), Calcutta (1916-18) and Melbourne (1920-36). Most of the dates are common in worn condition but all are scarce choice. For 1920, all the circulation strikes were made at Sydney.
Recorded mintage: 4,114,000.
