This specimen was lot 1897 in Stephen Album sale 27 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2017), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "AUSTRALIA: George V, 1910-1936, ½ penny, 1922. Gorgeous example, struck at Sydney, NGC graded MS64 RB." This half penny was struck 1911-36 at London (1911-14), Heaton (1912-15), Sydney (1919-22), Calcutta (1916-18) and Melbourne (1920-36). Most of the dates are common in worn condition but all are scarce choice.
Recorded mintage: 6,924,000 plus most of the 1,113,000 struck in 1923.
Specification: 5.6 g, bronze, 25.5 mm diameter.
