Australia 1922 shilling

from Steve Album sale 27, lot 1899

This specimen was lot 1899 in Stephen Album sale 27 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2017), where it did not sell. The catalog description^[1] noted, "AUSTRALIA: George V, 1910-1936, AR shilling, 1922. Fabulous example, extremely rare in this quality, NGC graded MS63." The type was struck 1911-36 at London, Melbourne (this specimen) and Sydney. Though the type is not rare, the price ascends rapidly with grade. This date is scarce.

Recorded mintage: 2,040,000 plus proofs.

Specification: 5.45 g, 0.925 fine silver, 24 mm diameter.
