This specimen was lot 1292 in Stephen Album sale 38 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2020), where it sold for $416.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "AFGHANISTAN: Amanullah, 1919-1929, AV amani, SH1304, Almost Unc to Unc." One amani was equal to ten Afghan rupees. This issue was struck SH 1304-1306. It is dated using the Solar Hegira calendar, which starts on the same date as the traditional Hegira calendar but uses solar years rather than lunar years.
