Solothurn 1788 10 batzen

Sincona sale 102, part of lot 5466

This specimen was part of lot 5466 in Sincona Auction 102 (Zürich, October 2025), where it sold for 225 CHF (about US$339 including buyers' fees). The catalog description^[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ. Solothurn. Stadt und Kanton. 10 Batzen 1787, Solothurn. 10 Batzen 1788. 20 Kreuzer 1795. Lot von 3 Stück. Sehr schön-vorzüglich. (Switzerland, canton of Solothurn, ten batzen of 1787 and 1788 and twenty kreuzer of 1795. Very Fine-Extremely Fine, three pieces)"

This somewhat scarce type was struck 1787-88, 1791 and 1794. One thaler was forty batzen. The reverse motto, "CUNCTA PER DEUM", translates as, "United by God."
