This specimen is one of a type struck at the Franklin Mint for the Bahamas 1974-85. The denomination was introduced in 1966. In 1974 the bust of the queen was dropped in favor of the arms of the Bahamas. The type was last minted in 1989. The sloop on the reverse makes this coin a popular souvenir for sunburned tourists.

Recorded mintage: 13,000 plus proofs.

Specification: 6.90 g, copper-nickel, 24.26 mm diameter.
