Stack's Bowers 2025 NYINC sale, lot 38429

This specimen was lot 38429 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2025), where it sold for $360. The catalog description^[1] noted, "GERMANY. Weimar Republic. 5 Mark, 1932-A. Berlin Mint. PCGS MS-64. Oak Tree type." This type was minted in large quantities 1927-32 from six mints yet is today scarce. It seems likely most were melted without ever leaving government vaults.

Recorded mintage: 32,303,000.

Specification: 25 g, 0.500 fine silver, 37 mm diameter, .401 troy oz ASW.
